Research Interests:
I study Bioinformatics and Comparative Genomics in Dr. Aleksandar Milosavljevic's Bioinformatics Research Laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine.
I'm using bioinformatic techniques to construct pipelines for the
analysis and integration of large-scale genomic data. We use this
system to identify recurrent genetic abnormalities in cancer genomes
and other pools of patients with genetic disorders.
Hypothesis-generation algorithms can then be applied to predict which
mutations are likely to be causative of the disease phenotype.
Ultimately, systems like this will lead to a better understanding of
genetic disorders, including cancer, and will help inform approaches in
personalized medicine.
